Patients’ Kit

Since the publication of  ‘RD. 1976/1999, of 23rd December establishing quality criteria in radiodiagnosis’, centro de dosimetría has been carrying out the dose determination service for patients via thermoluminiscence dosimetry. This dosimetry technique is applied to calculate the dose on the patient’s entry surface during a radiological examination.

The service consists of designing special dosimeter configurations as per radiological technique to be assessed. As with personal dosimetry, the dosimeters are sent to the customer and once used are returned to the reader centre for reading, and the corresponding report issued after their assessment.

Configurations exist today adapted to verification of doses given during simple radiological examinations, mammographies and CAT scans.
